Dr._Brad_Smith_smallDr. Brad Smith, O.D.

Dr. Brad Smith received his Bachelor of Science degree in Visual Science and his Doctor of Optometry from Pacific University. He received the American Academy of Optometry’s Julius F. Neumeller Award in Optics and the Beta Sigma Kappa Research Design Award in 1987, and the Oregon Optometric Physicians Association’s Young Optometrist of the Year in 1997. Dr. Smith joined our practice in 1987.

Dr. Smith enjoys golfing, flying, barefoot water-skiing, traveling, and spending time with his family.

 

KeelyDr. Keely Hoban, O.D.

Dr. Keely Hoban was born and raised in Montana. Dr. Hoban earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry in 2007 from College of Saint Benedict (Saint Joseph, MN), and achieved her Doctor of Optometry degree with distinction from Pacific University in 2011. She spent 2011 and some of 2012 at the Portland VA Medical Center doing a residency specializing in primary care with emphasis in ocular disease and low vision.

Dr. Hoban and her husband, Bryan currently reside in Portland Oregon,where they enjoy golfing, hiking, playing tennis and spending time with family and friends.

Dr. Michael Connell, O.D.

Dr. Connell graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from the University of Tennessee in 2009. He went on to earn his Doctor of Optometry from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN in 2014. He completed two internships; one at a cataract and LASIK surgical center in Mesa, Arizona and another one at a specialty contact lens clinic in Portsmouth, VA. Dr. Connell specializes in primary eye care ranging from management of systemic diseases as they relate to the eye to acute onset medical care as well as functional visual needs and contact lenses.

He also enjoy cooking and he likes to test his skills for new culinary experiences. He is an avid sports enthusiast and a huge fan of the Tennessee Volunteers football, the Carolina Panthers, and the St. Louis Blues.

 

KatieKatie, Office Manager

Katie began working at Tigard Vision Center in the beginning of 2007 as our Office Manager. Prior to managing the office, she practiced law in the State of Washington for 15 years. Since coming to work in the field of Optometry, Katie has developed a new passion for eye health, eye wear, and superior patient care.

She continues to be an active member of the Washington State Bar and the Oregon State Bar. Her hobbies include volunteering at her son’s school, golfing, snow skiing and spending time with family and friends.

Megan came to us in November, 2014 after working for a large eye care facility in Minot, North Dakota as an ophthalmic assistant.

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time outdoors, going to the coast and various festivals around Portland, as well as spending time with her family, friends and two children.

Alyssa, Front Desk

Alyssa is originally from the Midwest and moved to Portland in 2012. She was working in the Jewelry industry until she decided it was time to advance her customer service skills in the medical field and joined Murray Scholls Vision Center in the spring of 2017.

Alyssa and her husband live in Southwest Portland with their dog Lola. In her free time she enjoys backpacking and hiking. She also enjoys visiting the local breweries or taking day trips to do wine tastings in the Willamette Valley.

Leah, Billing Specialist

Leah graduated from Mills College with a Bachelors degree in 2010. Since graduation Leah worked in management in the fitness industry. Wanting to peruse a career catered towards health, Leah joined the Murray Scholls Vision Center team as a billing specialist December 2016.

In her free time, Leah enjoys sailing with her friends and family and gardening.

Kim, Optometric Assistant

Kim’s prior experience as an ophthalmic assistant was a great addition to the Murray Scholls Vision Center team in November 2016. As a Los Angeles native, Kim enjoys exploring the city in her spare time and she is learning to appreciate the lush landscape that is a product of our abundant Pacific Northwest rain!
